How many guests can I have? Sugarland Wedding Chapel will comfortably seat up to 75 guests. This includes both the chapel seating and the balcony area.
What type of ceremonies do you perform? All of our wedding ceremonies are strictly religious. We do not do civil ceremonies. While all our wedding ceremonies are distinctly Christian, they are non- denominational. Members of other religions that do not consider themselves Christian are welcome; however, please do not ask our ministers to change the Christian nature of the ceremony or remove our religious symbols. Also, please do not ask our ministers to omit references to Christian beliefs.
Are your ministers church ordained? Yes. All of our ministers are church ordained with many years of actual church ministry experience.
May we write our own ceremony or vows? Our Chapel Pastor, Dr. Steve Taylor, and our other ministers add a very personal touch to your ceremony. You will be called by name and made to feel comfortable and relaxed on your special day. However, you may contact Dr. Steve for advice on any further personalization of your ceremony.
May we bring our own minister? We will allow a guest minister to have a part in the ceremony (usually a prayer); however, due to photography and time constraints, all of our ceremonies are performed by our own church-ordained minister.
How much time is allowed with each ceremony? Our chapel will allow adequate time for you to celebrate your marriage and to provide the services that you request. We are committed to providing excellence for your wedding. The actual time allotted for your wedding is based on the number of guests attending and the services being provided.
Is there a dressing area for the bride and groom in the same building as the chapel? Yes, we have dressing rooms for the bride and groom. The bride's dressing room has its own private restroom, a countertop that runs the length of the dressing room on one side, two floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and a sitting area. The dressing area is in the same building as the chapel so the bride and groom are never exposed to inclement weather.
How far in advance of the wedding may the bride enter the dressing room? The dressing room will be available for the bride 30 minutes before the wedding. We ask the bride to arrive with hair and make-up done so that she will only need to slip into her wedding attire.
What about dressing rooms for bridesmaids and others? Our dressing rooms are for the bride and groom only. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and guests should all come dressed, ready for the wedding.
May we use the dressing room after the wedding? In most cases, no.
May we have attendants? Yes, you may have up to three attendants on each side. In addition, you may also have a ring-bearer, flower girl, and someone to escort the bride.
Is there a dress code? While you may dress as formal or as casual as you like, please keep in mind that your ceremony will take place in sacred surroundings.
Are guests allowed to take photographs / video? As of January 1, 2008, no. We pride ourselves on the professional quality of our wedding photography and video productions. Therefore, we provide a professional photographer for your wedding. No other cameras or video equipment are allowed inside our chapel, and the copyright to all images is the property of Sugarland Weddings, Inc.
Our professional photographer will take a large number of indoor and outdoor (weather-permitting) digital photos on your wedding day. Your wedding photos will be placed on the Internet for a period of 3 months. After your ceremony, you will be given a password that will allow you to view and order your wedding photos online. If you choose to do so, you can make the password available to your family members and friends.
